Blakely May, LCMHC
“I BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING POWERFUL ABOUT BEING TRULY SEEN, ESPECIALLY IN THE PLACES YOU MAY HAVE FELT OVERLOOKED, MISUNDERSTOOD, OR ALONE. FROM THAT PLACE OF CONNECTION, REAL CHANGE BECOMES POSSIBLE.”
My approach to therapy is both direct and compassionate. I will meet you with empathy and care, while also helping you look honestly at what may be keeping you stuck. We work together, openly and collaboratively, to explore what isn’t working and move toward something that is more aligned and more like you. My approach is not about judgment, but about understanding, growth, and forward movement.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions, as well as those seeking deeper connection with others. I see myself as an advocate, someone who stands alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths and move toward healing.
My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Somatic therapy. This integrative, mind-body approach allows us to not only shift thought patterns but also process emotions and experiences held in the body.
Together, we work toward a deeper understanding of who you are, letting go of patterns that no longer serve you, and creating a life that feels more connected, grounded, and fulfilling.
MY WORK IS ROOTED IN EMPOWERING YOU TO FIND YOUR VOICE, MINDFULLY CHALLENGE THE PATTERNS THAT ARE HOLDING YOU BACK, AND CREATE MEANINGFUL, LASTING CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE.
Working with me feels collaborative, genuine, and supportive. You’ll be deeply seen and understood in an authentic, nonjudgmental space, while also thoughtfully challenged to look honestly at patterns that are limiting your growth so you can create impactful, lasting change.
I’m driven by helping people reconnect with their authentic selves, find their voice, and break cycles that no longer work. I am passionate about supporting those who may have felt marginalized, overlooked, or misunderstood, and creating a space where they feel safe, respected, and empowered.
I’ll meet you with empathy and validation, especially around the parts of your story that have been painful or difficult, while also helping you cultivate self-compassion so you can relate to yourself with greater understanding and care. At the same time, I may reflect on what I’m noticing, ask thoughtful questions, or invite you to consider new perspectives. This approach is centered on facilitating insight and growth in a way that is collaborative, intentional, and aligned with your values.
I approach trauma with care, collaboration, and respect for your pace. We focus first on helping you feel safe and grounded, then gently work through your experiences in a way that feels manageable—not overwhelming. Using a mind-body approach, I integrate somatic therapy, mindfulness, and CBT to support both emotional and physical healing. You remain in control throughout the process, while I provide steady support, insight, and guidance.
