“HEALING TAKES TIME, AND ASKING FOR HELP IS A COURAGEOUS STEP.”
Let’s find your strengths together.
Navigating challenges that life throws at us can be difficult. My clinical expertise allows to to build off your strengths to overcome challenges. My experience involves working with addiction, mental health, victims of trauma, and providing support to the LGBTQ+ community. My background and cultural humility allows me to meet indiviudals where they are at in life and feel heard.
My therapeautic style is trauma informed where I build a foundation from CBT, DBT, and EMDR. Each session is client-centered and is taken at a pace comfortable to the client.
Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.
When helping individuals overcome trauma, my approach is tailored to each client’s experience. Building a therapeutic relationship, based on trust, empathy, and non-judgement. Ensuring that the client feels in control, and moving at a pace that feels most comfortable to them. It is important to normalize all experiences and reactions. I then teach grounding techniques, mindfulness, and relaxation exercises to manage distress. I also utilize evidence-based practices, such as EMDR, CBT, and DBT to process and integrate traumatic memories.
In my own life and childhood, I have encountered moments that have tested my emotional strengths and forced me to confront difficult truths. These experiences cultivated in me a deep sense of empathy and a recognition of the importance of mental health. AS I went to school, I became more interested in the therapeutic process. I was inspired by the transformative power of therapy and the impact it had on me and others in my life. I knew that I wanted to be that presence for others – to offer support, tools, and a safe space. Today, I am committed to helping my own clients on their journeys of self-discovery and healing. My approach is grounding in empathy, authenticity, and respect for each person’s unique story.
I have watched family members battle addiction and seen the emotional and mental toll it had on their lives. My passion for helping clients with addiction is rooted in empathy for the struggles they face and strong belief in the possibility of recovery. Addiction is often misunderstood and stigmatized, but I have come to understand it as a deeply human response to pain, trauma, and sometimes a search for connection or escape. I strongly believe in harm reduction and building upon a client’s strengths to work towards recovery. I am passionate about helping clients with addiction because I believe in the transformative power of therapy and the human capacity for change. I am inspired by the courage it takes to seek help, to face one’s vulnerabilities, and to commit to a new way of living. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore the root cause of their addiction, develop healthier coping skills, and rebuild their lives.
When it comes to addressing mental health, I believe in a holistic approach that considers the whole person – their experiences, strengths, and goals. Mental health is deeply interconnected with various aspects of life, and my goal is to help clients achieve balance, resilience, and well-being. I am mindful of the cultural, social, and personal factors that influence mental health, ensuring that my approach is inclusive and respectful of each client’s background. My approach focuses on empowering clients with the with the tools and skills they need to manage their mental health effectively. I encourage clients to develop self-compassion and resilience, helping them navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence. I help clients identify and build on their strengths, fostering a sense of self-efficacy in their journey towards mental wellness.
